Shared Value Project & AIA Roundtable

November 7, 2018

Working with founding member AIA, SVP convened a roundtable with key stakeholders including Cancer Council Victoria to generate shared value thinking collectively between government, business and not-for-profit.

The purpose of the roundtable was to consider the economic impact of cancer and to identify the shared value opportunities in cancer prevention and early detection.

Cancer impacts every aspect of society, there are 120,000 diagnoses per year and roughly 1/3 are preventable. With attendees from The Department of Health, insurance, superannuation, medical technology and not-for-profit, it was agreed that there is an opportunity for business as employers to make a positive impact.

A comprehensive group discussion was held, and a small working group was established to form the basis of a shared value cancer awareness pilot program, the results of which we will report.
