This month our Founding Member Nestlé have published their 2016 Nestlé in Society: Creating Shared Value report. The report sets out the company’s 42 Nestlé commitments to society leading up to 2020, and three bold ambitions in support of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. This year also marks a momentous 10 years of ‘Creating Shared Value’ at Nestlé.
Their ambitions are: to help 50 million children to lead healthier lives; help to improve 30 million livelihoods in communities directly connected to our business activities; and strive for zero environmental impact in our operations. Nestlé look forward to working with stakeholders and wider society in achieving these.
2016 marked Nestlé’s 150th anniversary, and provided an opportunity to reflect on how their actions are helping to deliver value to society while driving business success.
Over the last 10 years, Nestlé’s Creating Shared Value approach has helped over two million women to develop skills, offered training and support to over four million farmers, and provided over 207 billion servings of fortified products for consumers around the world.
Looking ahead, the company’s work continues through three impact areas: individuals and families, our communities, and the planet.
