Introducing Mentoring Circles

November 7, 2022

This year we’re excited about a new program we’ve launched, designed to help guide and support our existing and emerging leaders in the shared value community.

The Mentoring Circles program operates by leveraging an established leader from our Shared Value member pool to lead a group of 5 or 6 other members through a series of tailored discussions. Each discussion is targeted and focuses on the areas they’re keen to explore; such as shared value partnerships, stakeholder engagement or impact measurement. Together the group or ‘circle’ discusses their challenges and provides insights and learnings from those who’ve seen success already. We’ve called them ‘circles’ because we know each participant has expertise to share and as such the group learns as much from their ‘lead’ as each other.

The structure of these circles is such that we keep the agenda really open (for the circle to tailor to their own needs) and the group sizes small – so that we encourage deep conversations and connections. We hope that these mentoring circles will provide practical guidance to those mentees participating to help them move forward in their own shared value journeys.

We’re incredibly grateful to this years’ mentors who we know you’d agree are perfect for this role:

Simonie Fox (AIA Australia), Head of Shared Value Partnerships
Michelle Cheah (Arup), Social Impact Leader
Sarah Bailey (NAB), Associate Director, Disaster Resilience
Lee McDougall (IAG), Executive Manager, Climate Action

So far, the feedback we’ve heard has been extremely positive and encouraging and we look forward to hearing the wrap up from each of the groups at the end of the year.
