The Shared Value Project recently co-hosted an ‘Extracting with Purpose’ seminar in Brisbane on 19th February, with the University of Queensland’s Centre for Social Responsibility in Mining (CSRM), following the success of the Perth workshop event in November.
This event was facilitated to bring together shared value and extractives industry experts to connect, learn and share around the shared value concept and the role extractives companies play in society, and to discuss key learnings from the newly released FSG extractives paper ‘Extracting with Purpose’.
Speakers included Helen Steel, Executive Director of the Shared Value Project; Prof Bruce Harvey, Adjunct Professor of the CSRM’s Sustainable Minerals Institute, and member of the Advisory Committee for the ‘Extracting with Purpose’ research paper; and Dr Daniel Franks, Deputy Director of Strategy and Mineral Policy at the CSRM.
