The Shared Value Project takes an exciting step forward as a not-for-profit company, appointing an Executive Director and Project Coordinator to lead the project into this new phase.
Over the past year, the demand from Australian corporations, not-for-profit groups, the media and individual practitioners for the Shared Value Project to assume a more public, leadership role has rapidly increased.
To meet this demand, it was clear that administration, governance and coordination of the Project needed to advance. As a result, we are delighted to announce that, since March 1, the Shared Value Project has begun operations as Shared Value Project Limited, a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee.
The vision of the Shared Value Project is to remain the preeminent think tank and forum for discussion and innovation on the concept of shared value, building its presence and influence in Australasia and acting as the peak body for shared value practice in the region.
Since the establishment of Shared Value Project in November 2011, a great deal of work has been done, including the development of a leadership program, education modules, practice models and articles. In 2014, we intend to make full use of this past work, making it more visible and accessible, while coordinating much more.
We will introduce a membership program that provides exclusive access to a network of individuals and consultants who have an interest in shared value and related disciplines. We will initiate a research program that shares investigation relevant to the Australian market. The education program will be expanded with introductory courses, master classes and training specially developed for individual businesses. Supporting these initiatives will be social occasions and special interest groups.
Helen Steel has been appointed Executive Director. She has a flying start, having been intimately involved in developments to date. Her experience with membership programs, fostering international relations and cross-sector collaborations – and her close ties with Boston – will enable her to secure a network of leading members and business partners in the Australian and international shared value landscape. She is supported by Briar Lloyd, Project Coordinator, who will ensure communication and coordination of activities.
Peter Yates AM assumes the role of Chairman of the Board and project founder, Rhod Ellis-Jones, will now act as Deputy Chair, providing leadership in the area of practice development.
