Applications are now open for the 2016 ‘Change the World’ list, with the opportunity to showcase the work of your organisation on a global scale.
First published in 2015, Fortune’s ‘Change the World’ List spotlights the top 50 companies who address major social problems as a core part of their business strategy and innovation. Our partner the Shared Value Initiative and their parent organisation FSG serve as research partners on this list and are seeking company nominations for 2016.
Organisations who topped last year’s list included Vodafone, Google, Toyota, Walmart, and GSK. Considerations in the judging process include the degree of business innovation involved, measurable impact at scale on an important social challenge, contribution of the share value activities to the company’s profitability and competitive advantage, and significance of the shared value effort to the overall business.
When Prof Michael Porter and Mark Kramer first described shared value in 2011, companies creating shared value were more the exception than the rule; but they have contributed research to this list to show just how much the concept of aligning business opportunity and social impact is moving into the mainstream.
To be considered for this year’s version of the ‘Change the World’ list, please fill out the information on the Shared Value Initiative website via the link below, and a member of the Shared Value Initiative team will be in contact.
