Energy Australia

EnergyAustralia aims to play an active role in helping to solve the social issues that are important to their customers and the communities in which they serve. By doing so, they hope to create an environment where each group benefits, as we transition to a cleaner energy future and no one is left behind.

EnergyAustralia provides gas and electricity to 2.4 million residential and business customer accounts in Victoria, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, South Australia and Queensland. By making customers their priority, they are always looking for ways to incorporate shared value into our business.

EnergyAustralia supply customers with energy from wholesale markets and their own coal and gas-fired power stations and renewable energy sources. Their company purpose is to lead and accelerate the clean energy transformation for all. Meanwhile, they have a goal to be carbon neutral by 2050.

Through long-term renewable agreements that are worth almost $3 billion,EnergyAustralia underpins 7.5 per cent of the large-scale wind and solar projects in the National Electricity Market. They also give their customers the opportunity to offset their home emissions at no extra cost. The team is proud that Go Neutral remains the largest certified carbon neutral program for electricity customers in Australia.

In addition, EnergyAustralia is living its company values as the only major retailer who is a signatory to the Energy Charter. The Energy Charter is an industry-led initiative focused on embedding customer-centric culture and conduct in energy businesses to create real improvements in service delivery. Through the Energy Charter, EnergyAustralia shares best practices and collaborates on initiatives that aim to solve customer problems. They are also committed to supporting the communities in which their people live and work.

EnergyAustralia’s leading Workplace Giving program has one of Australia’s highest participation rates. Their employees, with matching by EnergyAustralia, have already raised over $1 million for charity partners and this was accomplished in less than three years.

EnergyAustralia recognises Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners of the land on which they operate and the communities they serve. Through their Reconciliation Action Plan, their goal is to build working relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities more broadly.
