Meena is Founder and Principal of BoardQ, a niche advisory practice advising and coaching boards and top teams on effectiveness, development and renewal. She has extensive experience advising on major cultural transformations, leadership succession and conducting top team and board effectiveness reviews. Her consulting work is uniquely grounded in Organisational Development and Behavioural Psychology.
Meena’s recently published book “Identity, Power and Influence in the Boardroom” (Routledge UK, 2019), sets out actionable strategies for building high-impact directors and boards. The book is drawn from both her doctoral level research into the processes of boardroom influence in listed companies and reveals the silent risks that a suboptimal dynamic may pose to making critical decisions. Her previous publications include The Secret Life of Decisions (Routledge, 2013) and reflects her career long preoccupation with how the quality of decision making is enabled and what undermines an effective decision culture.
Her recent consulting assignments include a variety of strategic assignments: undertaking a major review of the leadership practices for a global client, providing advice to a listed company board on their nominations processes and C-suite development, acted as an operating partner alongside a major transformation program and developing a leadership blueprint for a client pursuing major strategic change. She regularly facilitates top team offsites designed to develop a shared view among top teams on the leadership required to implement the chosen strategy.
Meena has held senior roles in ANZ Banking Group, Esso Australia, Hay Group and PA Consulting and currently consults across multiple sectors including banking and financial services, professional services, telecommunications and not for profit organisations in Australia and the UK. She was a co-opted member of the Barclays Group Global Leadership Faculty from 2013-2016 supporting their transformation program. Her work focuses on the enablers of and blockers to both personal change and organisational change.
