Desmond Lim is the Executive Manager for Strategy & Business Planning in Personal Insurance at Suncorp Group. He has held previous roles at Tabcorp, AMP Limited, Commonwealth Bank across merger and acquisition, strategic projects, corporate and business strategy.  His focus has been on being the trusted strategic advisor to key stakeholders including the Board, CEO and senior executives in all aspects of strategy.  He has 16 years of experience in strategic thinking, corporate advisory, ideas development, innovation and execution across financial services, gaming, media & entertainment, consulting, biotechnology (start-up) and academia. Desmond holds an MBA (Exec.) from AGSM (University of Sydney/UNSW), Masters of Finance and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from University of Western Australia.  His rich cultural background and language proficiencies in Mandarin, Cantonese and Hokkien have also seen him as part cross cultural engagement teams with offshore government officials and executives in his career.  Desmond’s passion in health and education philanthropy have also seen him supporting various charities including investing in building schools and libraries in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam whilst supporting the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation and Angkor Children’s Hospital in Cambodia.
