Terms and conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to all applicants and all categories for the Shared Value Awards.

  1. By participating in the Shared Value Awards, applicants agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
  2. To be eligible, the organisation or project must be based in the Asia Pacific region and be able to provide evidence of registration within your country for taxation purposes.
  3. Entries can be submitted to more than one category and individuals can enter more than once.
  4. All awards, except where stated otherwise, belong to the employer or organisation.
  5. All materials provided must comply with the provisions of the Privacy Act (www.privacy.gov.au) and the Copyright Act (www.scalepus.law.org.au).
  6. Entries and supporting documents should be submitted no later than 5.00pm on Friday 8 March 2024 AEDT.
  7. Selection Committee members have complete discretion in assessing entries, applying the selection criteria and determining winners. The Selection Committee’s decision is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into in relation to their decision. Selection Committee comments will be available, upon request, to applicants from June 2024 to August 2024.
  8. The assessment, conduct and results of the awards will not create any legal obligation between applicants and the Shared Value Project.
  9. The Selection Committee may choose to award organisations or individuals outside of the categories at their discretion; where the entry demonstrates exemplary shared value leadership or practice.
  10. The Selection Committee reserves the right not to allocate an award in a particular category if in their opinion there are no entries of sufficient merit.
  11. If an applicant who is judged to be a winner is found to have failed to satisfy or abide by the terms and conditions, they will be disqualified (without refund), and they will no longer be entitled to the relevant award. Consequently, the Shared Value Project may present the relevant award to another applicant or choose not to present the award at all.
  12. By entering the Shared Value Awards, each applicant acknowledges that their entry is true, accurate, complete and original work, and that any intellectual property rights arising in connection with that entry rest with the applicant and that the entry does not interfere with any third-party rights.
  13. The Shared Value Project reserves the right to decline a submission or to disqualify an entry at its absolute discretion, including, but not limited to, a situation where the acceptance of the entry may be detrimental to the objectives of the Shared Value Awards program.
  14. The Shared Value Project may reproduce entries with the aim of furthering excellence in shared value practice. In this instance, the approval of the applicant will be sought first. Aspects of entries may be kept confidential, if requested by the applicant.
  15. Applicants acknowledge that they may be required for presentations and media interviews in respect of their entry and agree to take all reasonable steps to make themselves available for and actively participate in such presentations or media interviews.
  16. The Shared Value Project employees, officers and agents do not accept any liability, however arising, including liability for negligence, for any accident, loss, injury or damage arising at any time out of or in connection with the Shared Value Awards, except for any liability that cannot, by law be excluded.
  17. The Shared Value Project reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions in any way, at any time, before the closing date for the Shared Value Awards entries and at its absolute discretion. Applicants in the Shared Value Awards program will be notified of any such amendments prior to the closing date.
