The Shared Value Project is pleased to announce its first member from the health care sector, Opal Aged Care. Opal Aged Care is one of Australia’s largest residential aged care providers, owns and operates 60 homes in four states providing specialist residential aged care for a range of needs including dementia and respite care.
The aged care and disability support sectors as well as their suppliers have undergone significant growth and change in recent years. The Aged Care sector is often characterised by largely small, fragmented operators, delivering very uneven levels of service to their clients. Opal Aged Care is a privately owned company with more than 5,900 highly trained staff and the backing of long term institutional investors such as AMP Life and GK Goh Holdings.
Armed with the support of the Shared Value Project and shared value strategy, Opal Aged Care can strengthen their leading position in the industry and in the delivery of high quality care for Australia’s ageing population.
With a quarter of Australia’s population being over 65 in the next 40 years. Aged Care services are going to be under increased pressure. Opal plans to take the lead in reimagining aged care, with a focus on restorative care, rehabilitation services and improved customer choice.
