Advancing Equity | Optus

Optus’ Digital Thumbprint program provides free educational workshops, guides, and resources on digital safety and wellbeing for Australian students and families, addressing issues like cyberbullying, scams, and responsible technology use. Over 600,000 students have participated, advancing equity in digital literacy across socioeconomic backgrounds.

Value Created

  1. Reputational value supporting the Optus brand and ability to launch new strategies, such as introducing resources around the appropriate age for a child’s first phone
  2. Differentiating Optus in the market beyond just products and pricing by building trust with families during the pivotal “first phone” moment
  3. Enabling cross-functional leverage across the business, such as training Optus employees to deliver program content as part of localisation efforts
