Shared Value Project launch ‘Insight’ with NAB and the GPT Group

December 8, 2014

This past month, the Shared Value Project launched our highly anticipated networking event series ‘Insight’, in both Melbourne and Sydney.

Both events were well attended, and it was terrific to have our members, new faces, as well as groups and individuals we have been talking to separately, gathered together in the same room, to connect over a common interest, striving for business at its best through creating shared value.

The events were hosted by Shared Value Project Founding Members NAB and the GPT Group, and were an opportunity for leaders to share their company’s shared value journey.

In Melbourne, Sasha Courville, Head of Corporate Responsibility Strategy at NAB, shared her insights and discussed how shared value has given NAB a lens to review the impact and sustainability of their programs and products. NAB various departments and shared value initiatives were very well represented on the evening, and Sasha encouragingly engaged guests with leaders from the likes of NAB Care, NAB Assist, The Village, Indigenous Finance and Development, Community Finance and Development, Education, and Environment and Sustainability.

Continuing on this journey and recognising the communities of interest that intersect with shareholders, employees and management, the GPT Group has been addressing social issues such as homelessness and implementing new initiatives such as STREAT, and office de-fitting to reuse and recycle materials used within their properties. A number of GPT Group staff who were in attendance on the evening for guests to engage with and learn more about these initiatives.
