David has more than 20 years of strategy, management consulting, and corporate finance experience across a range of industries. He joined IAG in 2011 as General Manager for CGU’s Corporate Office, with responsibilities for Corporate Strategy, Risk & Compliance, Brand, Corporate Communication functions, Legal Services and the CGU Foundation. In December 2013 he became Group General Manager, Strategy, for IAG responsible for the strategic direction of the organization, managing the Group’s shared value strategy, establishing the IAG Foundation, driving the roll out of the Human Centered Design capability program and building the IAG Research Centre which provides advisory services on technical, motor, home and other safety issues. In 2015 David was appointed Group Executive – Office of the CEO.
Prior to joining IAG David was a corporate advisor with Lexicon Partners where he focused on merger and acquisitions, corporate re-structures and corporate strategy. David has also been Associate Principal with McKinsey and Company in their Sydney and New York offices, a senior marketing executive with Microsoft Inc. in Redmond, and has held other senior executive roles in software and media companies in Australia and the US.
